Green Mtn Canyon is running at 365 cfs. BITCHEN!!!! They have to release water from the res for private water rights down stream. Camping at there in two weeks, and will def try this run out, only takes 5 mins from the put-in to take out, so shuttling should be cake. Might have to do it twice!

I have not done that run, and it is funny, i also have a monster melon and my stutter fits me as well.

As for the paddle, I use a werner stinger solid shaft.  I had the adjustable and the first time i used it it snapped in half.  I was on the water for about 15 minutes.  I was bracing on the wave in glenwood.
I had a post about it on mountain buzz a month or so aga and caught a bunch of shit.
Werners service was terrible.  They would not replace it.  Brand new, paid full retail and it had no use on it.
The guys at CKS took care of it.

I had a Werner Full Carbon Coryvrecken kayak paddle snap at the neck on me last year.

I was using it as a backup paddle on my Coastrunner. Conditions changed at sea and I needed it, big time, to get back up wind to safety in f5-6 winds. I had to tie the broken end to my SUP paddle with a couple of clove hitches. It took me about an hour to paddle half a mile back to land.

They did replace it but no recognition of the fact my kit let me down at sea and could've been life threatening!

I really want a 3-piece paddle to fit into my iSUP bag, but also dont want something that is going to break on me.

SteamboatBORN

Pulled the trigger and ordered the Werner Stinger One-Piece!!! It was giving me stress and I knew I would want the one piece over the three piece. I dont plan to travel much with my iSUP using the backpack, and if I do, I will just pick up a cheaper paddle down the road.

Almost all of my paddling has been on lakes, flat & chopped up with boat traffic. I have a chance to do a river run next weekend. I've done this a couple times before on an Imagine Surfer & an Imagine Wizard. I'm like 225 lbs so the Wizard was far better, very stable, easy to turn & take advantage of in the currents & eddies.

So this time I have a choice between a Badfish MVP & the Jackson Supercharger. The only thing I really need is a tough, durable board that can handle the rocks typically found on a river run. But obviously a little performance & help surfing holes or whatever would be nice too. I'm leaning towards the Badfish. But I'm sure the Supercharger is way more durable. Will I regret renting the Badfish & end up getting it dinged & cost me? Are the fins tough enough to handle whatever I run across? Also, is it like a typical foam/epoxy board that I shouldn't leave out in the heat/sun or more like the Bics that will take just about anything?

I would say, if your pretty new to WW, eddies & eddie lines and the like and they'll be rocks, save the MVP for later, when you've more experience. MVP is such a stunning board that its heard breaking putting a hole in it.

The Jackson doesn't perform quite as well but will just bounce off rocks laughing! :)

Jackson! You get drag that thing through almost anything and will hardly scratch it.

Love mine paddles and braces great. Prefer it over the carve now.

Just got mine in the mail yesterday from CKS. Great service, got a deal on the one-piece Stinger and the paddle looks sick, going to take it out this weekend on a section of the Blue River here in Colorado. Not much about the Stinger on The Zone, but from what I have heard its a killer paddle for the rivers and helps with catch in river currents. I was using a C4 fiberglass with a large blade and it was getting beat up and was tricky with rapids, but it was also meant for flatwater and surf.

Really love my Stinger on piece, Super light and seems pretty strong.
As for the Badvish MVP vs the Supercharger, MVP is twice the price.  If you are looking to beat up a board the supercharger is probably a better value.
I have a badfish river surfer and really enjoy it, but i had the same decision to make, between the supercharger and the mvp and went with the jackson.  It is super stable, bomb proof and i have been running some very technical runs and cleaning them.

I might rent a jackson for the weekend camp trip.

I am still on the edge and might just buy one of the new Corran Plastic Street Fighers. Also would be a great board to be able to beat up, plus its only 37 lbs and has dry storage compartment.

I finally got out on an MVP on a river this week and really, really liked it. My biggest worry with it is damaging it on rocks. I'd like to check out the coating on the new models to see if it still paddles well and to see how tough it is. I've paddled rivers a bit more with the MCIT inflatable, but I like the MVP more. It definitely is more fun to surf. I also am pretty excited to check out Glide SUPs new Nile board that is supposed to come out soon. Prototypes of it were used on the White Nile in Africa, and it has a coating they claim makes it incredibly tough.

Are there are plastic 12'6" boards on the market? I know Imagine was going to put one out a couple of years ago but it never seemed to hit the market. I'd be interested eventually for a pure river cruiser. Not a whitewater board, but something that could take some hits. I promised my son to paddle the Erie Canal one day, and I wouldn't want to do that run in anything fragile. It would also need to be large enough to carry cargo.

Bic has a 12'6 that is I think plastic.  I don't think the construction is as strong as the Imagine boards or the Jackson.  I'd love to hear from anyone that has paddle one of the Dura Tec Bic boards.

I have heard the Dura Tec are bomb proof but nothing can take abuse like plastic, just look at ww kayaks. They are sometimes 10+ years old, scratched up, and still work great. Corran makes a 11' plastic, I dont know of anyone making a 12'6.

The Bic 12'6" Wing is in their Ace-Tec line. And it's really tough. Compression molded foam epoxy & then encased in a plastic shell. So I was told this makes it less susceptible to problems from the sun & heat, and fairly ding-proof. I demoed one for a few days & it's FAR more durable than any LakeShore, Bote or SUPATX board I've ever seen.

The Dura-tec line doesn't have nearly as many shapes but the guy said they are practically bombproof.
