Hi folks,

I'm leaving Saturday 6/20 for Sweden and will be there through mid July.  I won't be able to make the Naish event on Maui, but I will be cruising around the Stockholm archipelago on a new Jimmy Lewis 12'6" distance board.  This will be my 11th trip to Sweden since my wife's family is from there.  I can tell you the place is a mecca for sailing, kayaking, boating, and other fun activities.   Here are a few pics to give you a sense of what the place looks like.  It's basically a network of 20,000 beautiful islands that form a vast network of pristine waterways that form a gateway to the Baltic sea.   When I return, I'll post an update with pictures and possibly some videos under the Travel topic.

Aloha!

Gary

O.K, I know it's not Teahupo'o or the Galapagos, but this place is a truly beautiful place for flat water cruising.  I have not seen a single other person on a SUP board but I'm sure that will change.  So far I've managed to draw lots of attention (even go-arounds by boats) as curious onlookers stare at this strange new sport they've probably never heard of before.

Yesterday I completed one of my goals of paddling around Resarö.  It was longer than I thought, but I think I'll be in good shape to start doing Maliko runs when I get back home to Maui.

Hope to have some pictures posted at some point, that is, if anyone's remotely interested.   :-\

Aloha!

That's funny.  My first thought was almost the same: Sweden's in New Hampshire?.

I'm wondering if they have any snakes there like they do here?

Swedish snakes?  ??? you gotta be kidding.

Looks pretty nice. How about some photos of the other sort of 'wildlife' if you know what I mean  ;)
