Looking for any suggestions for a 2 or 3 piece SUP surf paddle I could travel with while flying - thank you for suggestions as did a search and most suggestions are 6-7 years old -

There probably hasn't been much evolution of surf paddles in the last 7 years.

My favorite surf paddle is the Werner Rip Stick, which also comes in a three piece travel version. It's blade is shaped, so the 79" really catches. But it also comes in an 89"

And if you'd rather spend $250 instead of $425, Chinook is a brand that flies under the radar but makes quality paddles, including travel.

I've been exceptionally happy with the Starboard Carbon Enduro 3 piece. Been using a 2022 model since they came out. Latest version just arrived here: https://greenwatersports.com/shop/starboard-enduro-ud-carbon-adjustable-60-84-3-piece-paddle

I have the fixed versions of these.  Basically, the only paddles I've ever tried so take my recommendation with a grain of salt but, I think they are great.  A bit spendy but sometimes you can get them on sale.  ...

I'll add that I use a fixed Starboard Carbon Prepreg for wave riding (and have done for 10 years+) and use the Carbon Enduro for all round and travel.

If you are still looking, the Black Project three-piece paddles are fantastic to travel with. They come with a padded case with straps that hold everything in place, are very light, have lots of blade and handle options, and have octagonal connections that prevent any movement or rotation at the joints. They are designed on Maui with some of the top paddlers in the world.

Sorry to take so long getting back to you. We got the less-expensive Lava model since we only use these for travel and have one-piece paddles for when we are surfing or downwinding at home. We have found the Lava to be great for our purposes since they are still lighter and stiffer than other multi-piece paddles we have tried. I can't speak about the Surge because we have never tried them.
