I've just put an order in for a Hala Carbon Hoss and can't wait to get my hands on it.

I'll try really really hard not to drool on it after I open the box!😛

Maybe not at first but eventually I'd like to do some easy river runs.

My Seattle! I miss the clear water. Sigh....

Even lazy rivers are a blast. Since you're a Seattle homeboy, I recommend the Yakima Canyon, putting in just outside Ellensburg. ...and if you're living elsewhere, hey, you have s travel sup now  ;D

Sigh....now you're just teasing me with that picture.  LOL!!

I lived there for 12yrs. and loved it there!! I'm in the Rocky region now. The water in the lakes here are NOT like out there brother.

If all goes as planned, I'll be back out there in the future though. Fingers crossed.

I received my boat today and the very first thing I noticed waswhat looks like a blemish or something.

Should I call Hala and show them??? My eye keeps twitching every time I look at it. LOL!

The sales guy just wrote it off as a
"Well, these are hand made ya know". I look at it as "wtf, it's a brand new board I haven't even ridden yet". Am I going to have an issue down the road?

Has anyone else encountered this????

I think that is where the fin reinforcement extends to the deck. It's a little bump that the deck material has to stretch over. Fully inflate it and see how it looks.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

Tall Dude is right. My Hoss has a rectangular area, which is the fin box that looks like that when the board is deflated. It looks like that small spot on the other side of the fin box on your deck pad may have been stretched or something when applied. Pump it up and see how it looks.

Well, first thing I did was inflate it at the shop before I left and it didn't change one bit. I called and talked to Hala and the guy I spoke to said to inflate it and it should go away after a while. Sooooo, I plan on using this weekend and we'll see how it goes. If it doesn't go away, the guy told me to call and let him know.

I have it fully inflated and I'm going to let it sit overnight. I'll use it this weekend and hopefully the combination of using it and being out in the sun will change things.

No, my Hoss doesn't have that little scuff on the deck pad. Like I stated, maybe it was over stretched or scuffed during the process of attaching the deckpad. I don't think it would impact performance at all and it seems limited to the deck pad itself. If it's that big a deal, maybe they will allow you to swap it out with another Hoss or get a discount on gear.

Sigh, yeah I know it won't affect performance. That's not the point. Paying top dollar, I expect top dollar, perfect. Ya know?

I seriously doubt this is going to go away even with the sun on it. First thing I did this morning was check it and it hasn't changed. This weekend will tell.

I get it. Now that I have looked again, the scuff looks compressed and confined to the deck pad, so that's not just going to pop out while inflated board and sun exposure. Same deal. Talk to your dealer and voice your concerns about a new product that looks scuffed, and maybe they will hook you up. Discount, board swap, etc.

Good luck and give us your thoughts. Btw, you will want to inflate past 15PSI at your weight. Go 20.
