Ed,

6 m/h was only at 10m race and not the whole 800miles. I'm not that good with my 40y.

Cheers, M

All righty, Zoners!

With holiday travel coming up, this morning was probably my last session for the year.  Very happy to reach my goal of 1000mi.  Grateful that the benefits go way beyond the physical--I'm pretty convinced that every stroke keeps me sane!

Merry Christmas and finish strong!

Very cool, dude. Congratulations. I didn't keep up my promise to track my miles this year. Maybe 2017 I can get my shit together. I'm doing about 7 miles a day here on the lake, but it's been a weird year. More surfing that downwinders at the start, then tons of downwinders in Hood River. Now not much surf (damn) and flatwater paddling often.

I'd just be guessing, but since I paddle almost every day, and probably average 5 miles or better, I think I'm pretty close to 1000 miles as well. I turn 70 on January 5th. Good reason to count the miles. and I'm training to do the CCBC this August in it's tenth year. time to step it up.

I track my sessions in km, so it is easier to achieve 1000.
Today was the day ;-)

Super cool to see this. Time on water is good for the head and the rest of you as we all know. Amazing goal. Next year let's see someone do it down the coast. ;)

Thanks, Pono!  I'm pretty sure you must have hit it as well.  It's just that I'm kind of neurotic about logging every bit of mileage.  I'm with you on the surf--I think a big part of why I made it was scant few mornings where surf was worth it.  Probably still going to target 1K this year but certainly won't beat myself up if I don't make it because of 30+ surf sessions.

I'm behind again this year.... and won't make the 1,000kms but will do better than last year. And I have not paddled one single day just to get up the miles / kms...

The last 3 years goals and achievements are shown in the 2nd picture... So one out of 4 years is not too bad I guess, with 2 out of 4 over 1,000kms..

OK, I am done for the year.

40 sessions, From January 9 to Dec 24.  No paddling in February. Located Cape Cod MA Every other month though.

202 miles, 325 KM.  Average 5.21mph.  usually 5miles session. With some current assist. Sometimes wind with me, sometimes against me.

Within a few hundredths of last years results.  I still love it!

The last two this year were a little tough.  2 sessions ago no ride back to the car, so locked up board and walked 1.5 miles in my drysuit home.  My wife took me later to get the car and board.

Saturday morning I had a 1 hour tide window, that coincided with a 1 hour no rain window.  So I was out at 7AM in 40F to get to my 200 mile goal.

2016 was a huge pull back for me.  My graph has really dropped since I moved from near the ocean.  Every trip downcountry is an expedition and sometimes I cancel myself out over thinking when to go, trying to coordinate with pals and staying home too long where I get roped by women to do stuff.

So I'm making a new years res.  Out the door immediately, skip breakfast, eat on the road and get water time where I can find it... right away.

Wind hasn't stopped on Maui and SUS has had very few days.  The harbor is my new terrain.  Uhgg.
