Board Rack for the Wall

I built a new board storage rack for my sup's, and thought I would post a few pics.

I wanted to keep it simple and just used 2x4's.  I bolted two 8 foot pieces to the wall, all the way to the floor for support, then I used 8" 'L' corner brackets to hold the sides up and covered it with some leftover carpet.  I had some extra wood and made an extra shelf on top for miscellaneous storage with some different corner brackets I found at Lowe's.

Thanks.  Take a look on this board, there are a few different designs that people have made and posted pics.  I got this idea from a surf shop and modified it to work for me.  I am happy with it, and it was fairly easy to put together.  All straight cuts and drilling holes, and not too expensive.

deadbait, thank you for explanation and pictures. I saw the other threads in this forum, and yours explanation is the best. (I am software guy and the term L-bracket was a bit intimidating...). I copied your design today. Three racks on one wall, 2 racks hanging from the stairs above my windsurfing trailer... Still the room on another wall for another set. Thank you!

Awesome!  How about some pics?

I had been wanting to get my boards off of the sawhorses, and onto a wall rack for a long time.  When I saw that design at a shop, I knew I could make that one with confidence.  All the other ones I saw looked hard to make, and I wasn't sure how to put it together.

Like that build too. I used steel threaded pipe into flanges right into 2 x 4 lugged to the wall. More money than 2 x 4 for sure. The only benefit may be how easy it is to adjust up and down with just 3 or 4 screws per side.
The top boards where down with dowels  into an extra block of 2 x 4. Holds weight very well specifically when angled to begin with. They carry 2 boards no issues.
