I sell these in store (nzboardstore) and have assembled quite a few for customers.
We heat the glue and shaft at the same time - twist in - pull out half an inch to get the bead of glue back inside the shaft - then set the angle of the handle and scrape the excess glue off with the end of a steel ruler, this way you can keep the excess and reuse it later.
Dipping the handle in water to cool the glue can set it faster.
Great to be able to set the paddle for the customer instore and then send them off to paddle right then.
