Obama and BIG oil !!!!!!!

Today, President Obama signed an executive order to loan 2 Billion of our taxpayers dollars to a Brazilian Oil Exploration Company (which is the 8th largest company in the entire world) to drill for oil of the coast of Brazil ! The oil that comes from this operation is for the sole purpose and use of CHINA and not the USA ! Now here's the real clincher... the Chinese government is under contract to purchase all the oil that this oil field will produce, which is hundreds of millions of barrels of oil". We have absolutely no gain from  this transaction whatsoever! Wait, it gets more interesting. Guess who is the largest individual  stockholder of  this Brazilian Oil Company and who would benefit most from this? It is American BILLIONAIRE, George Soros,
who  was one of President Obama's most generous financial supporter during his campaign. If you are able to connect the dots and follow the money, you are probably as upset as I am. Not a word of this transaction was broadcast on any of the news networks except FOX! Let others know who care about this country and where it is going. Also, let all of your Government  representatives know how you feel about this. Below is the Wall street Journal article to confirm this.

Ahh, the beauty of  using OPM, Soros and Co. will make 6 Billion on our money, why didn't I master this technique.

This is perhaps the funniest (and saddest) post yet on the Environment Forum.  To whit... we have a republican attacking a democrat for giving away money to Big Oil. LOL....  It would take Obama 100 years of being President to catch up the big oil giveaways that happened under George Bush I and II.

FYI... I'm not happy with Obama's giveaways to Big Oil, but it just confirms the balance of power that we already knew...

Sorry to blow your theory but I am definitely not a Republican. I think Bush is JUST as evil as Obama. They are of the same 2 headed one party system. There is no differnce between the two parties. They use polarizing and  dividing issues like the environment, abortion, gay rights ( to name just a few) to keep the sheeple focused on these issues that have been dividing  issue for more than 30 years;  BUT NOTHING CHANGES. All the while both parties continue to fill the military industrial complex, the BANKSTERS and BIG OILS pockets. Obama has not ended Bushes wars in fact he has expanded it by attacking and rendering millions homeless in Pakistan, so now we are fighting in IRAQ , Afghanistan and Pakistan . Now he is continuing Bush's rhetoric saying IRAN is the boogey man. These guys don't miss a beat.  They continue to bail out the BIG BANKS Bush did and Obama does. Obama signed an order continuing Bushes Patriot act. It goes on and on.

Sorry to pop your bubble but I am so NOT  a REPUBLICAN or a DEMOCRAT. That is the biggest scam in this country. We only have a two headed one party system.  Wake up !!!  get your head out of this Republican-  Democrat paradigm and start to see this country for what it is. OUR LEADERS SOLD OUT to big buisnesess , BIG oil, BIG BANKS.  PERIOD !!!!  I am a free thinking American who is watching my country being flushed down the toilet and our constitution being crumpled up and thrown on the ground, and you want to label people who expose the truth and the evil that is currently happening in our administration as a party issue ???

You should of heard me trash BUSH when he was in office. He is scum just like Obama is !!! NO DIFFERENCE.

you want to know what is really going on in this country read this ..... if you can handle the truth. MOST CAN"T

Hmm, not Republican, not Demmycrat, hates big Govt. Sounds like you're sailing mighty close to being a Tea Bagger. I broadly agree with your thesis about government being broken and in the pockets of the military-industrial complex and financial elite but I think you are looking at it in a pretty unsophisticated way.

And sorry but you lost me about here:
Quoteby attacking and rendering millions homeless in Pakistan

A few drone strikes has not made "millions homeless". Thats flat out not true. I judge the rest of your comments by this hyperbole.

Sorry Guys . Just fed up with being Labeled and called names when people run out of creative ideas. If I disagree with Obama I'm a Republican. When Bush was in Office and I disagreed with him a lot ,  I was labeled a Liberal wacko. I'm just tiered of people labeling others just because they are fed up with the current administrations policies or executive orders. We are heading for some serious times economically and socially. you guys seem to love to shut people down with Labels or name calling ,  Like Lobes calling me "sailing mighty close to being a tea bagger", or calling me the "Jimmy guy" ??? who the hell is the Jimmy guy ?? I don't even get that. If I agree with some of the Tea baggers positions i'm whacko, or that automatically makes the information I'm giving irrelevant. I think you guys are the ones that need to lighten up and have an open mind to what is really happening to US.

And yes my numbers were wrong in regards to Pakistan, so that is all you can say that just because I quoted wrong numbers what I said is irrelevant.  Obama is continuing and even ramping up Bush's Illegal wars. what happened to his campaign promise to end the Iraq and Afghanistan war as soon as he was elected ??  Not only did he not do this he is becoming more Hawkish every week. He is using the same rehtoric that Bush used to start a war with Iraq, only he's using it on Iran. Bush had 8 years to mess this country up Obama's had a year , I can only imagine what he will do the next 3 !! These guys use the same playbook. They might play for different teams but they get payed by the same owner.  The bottom line is were being sold a bag of lies and people still continue to use the Republican / Democrat paradigm to keep us divided. Just let it go. Thanks

Aloha

Actually Obama said he was going to get out of Iraq and concentrate on Afghanistan. But that's a detail. I empathize. People love to slap a label on someone so they can dismiss everything they say. It's stupid, but that's life.

Please do continue to state your opinion. Lobes, kwilden, and others like to take the "we're scientists, you're not, therefore we're right" position, which is just as convincing as you might expect. For an apparently smart bunch of guys they are pretty stupid when it comes to winning people to their position. I suspect they really don't care to. Which makes the responses just empty air.

the very notion that no matter WHAT Obama does it's OK because Bush did worse is repulsive.

This is How I feel Bill. No matter what , they are stuck in a very intolerant position and shoot down any opposing view with insults & name calling. I can sight articles all day long and they discredit it by saying that source is not credible. Like"newsweek" "The guardian" ect.  Your point is my point their responses are just empty air and it's very futile to continue this cause there is no discussion just, pissing on the messenger type mentality.

Good Luck

Speaking of labels.Didn't the thread label say environment .To much politics yuc :(

The unpleasant reality of the internet is that people (including me) say things they would probably not say face-to-face. There's little politeness. I need discipline myself to ignore these threads completely, they are just a pointless irritant.

Quote"we're scientists, you're not, therefore we're right" position,

Thats a total misrepresentation of my position Bill. Legitimacy does not come from authority it comes from fact, which is more often than not based in science itself. Not in merely being a scientist which is what you're implying.

The only way to treat these environmental issues is on a scientific basis. Bill your attempts to reduce everything to a glib slogan does more harm than good. I dont have an answer as to the best way to win people over, I suspect if it was easy it would have been done already but hitting them with sloganeering makes just as many people wary as it will convince.

As for Newsweek, I already said get real. Its not a scientific source. Nobody with a modicum of intelligence is going to be making decisions based on news articles and all their inherent flaws and biases. Would you fly in a plane or undergo surgery that has been designed by journalists?

This is why we have the peer review process to weed out that stuff. The peer review scientific process is still superior to any other source. Guardian, BBC, Newsweek and Fox News inclusive. The peer review process discarded global cooling. It has not yet discarded climate change. Think about it.

log man

SEA, Looking at your past posts ,you seem to be using the time honoured "shot gun" method . That is hit the problem with both barrels , trying to pull together 10 or 20 bits of halfbakery into 1 theory. The only problem being all the noise all the newsweek articles and all the sidelines don't add up to credibility.  log

Lobes, sometimes you make sense, other times you're a complete knucklehead. Here's what you said to Sea:

And you accuse me of  reducing issues to glib slogans? Exactly what were you attempting to do--piss the guy off? Mission accomplished. Demonstrate the superiority of your reasoning or your far greater sophistication? Not so much.
