Paddle is a preference thing.

This bp paddle is the lightest paddle I have ever came across. The dihedral high aspect blade works well, is stable, lots of hold and it feels like your on a tear drop blade. The quality and made is nice. I tested the 83sq & 88sq blade & both had medium flex shaft 100% premium usa made with palm handle. The only negative with this complete paddle is your limited to 1 option to medium flex shaft which is too stiff if your technique is not that pro and your cutting it below 74" totall length.

At 5'6 80kg I would select 78sq because you have the option with soft flex shaft, same goes with 73sq blade.

:Dyou ould get a soft sbhaft or  kenalu shaft and hot glue to the blade. That is what i do on mine.

I thought about that option of replacing the shaft with another brand but I move on.

I use the Black Project Surge 82 paddle with medium flex cut down to 70"  It has plenty of flex, it even eliminated the shoulder pain I was getting with another brand paddle.

Can you compare the Surge to the QB Trifecta or VDrive paddles? Have you tried them as well?

I quite like the idea of the 72 for surf (I have a 71 VDrive and an 86 Trifecta) but I'm not sure if it will have enough catch. It's recommended for really small people, but I'm average-sized.

The bp blade is one of the best and lightweight but that med flex shaft is a shoulder and body breaker. If you have a bad technique or do longdistance you will suffer the conveyances. Mine was cut to 72 & 73 and I dont know how you find 70" length plesurable to paddle, you must have great technique.
