I'm down in Massachusetts today and the wind is howling pretty good. For future reference, is there a tried and tested DW run down here for SSW wind?  Cape Cod Bay?

Not many tried and true runs unfortunately. Hopefully this year we'll get some more folks interested...needs a critical mass of paddlers or some very patient shuttle drivers. I've considered and mapped a lot of launch and landing spots for different conditions though. On a side note Googles changes to maps really sucks.....destroyed the functionality of it in many ways. None of the mileage of the runs I've mapped or the associated comments and links show up.... >:(

Brewster or Dennis to Wellfleet is good in SSW. Easy start and it goes over the shallows so there is lots of potential for bumps and glides....have to watch the tides as well as the wind though. The best SSW DW conditions I've seen were out in Vineyard Sound. Unfortunately I was in a race and paddling into it. Falmouth to Hyannis would have been epic. Piece of 8 was there as well. I would have loved to say to hell with the race and just head NE.

The last mile was a true DWinder(and my first). It felt strange to be sliding down a 5 to 6 foot face without being in the surf stance. Oak Bluffs to Hyannis would have been epic.
