Looks like Newport may be pretty tasty on Wednesday.

Magicseaweed is calling for headhighs with light winds and a 15 second swell period. That swell period sounds to good to be true. Alas, there is only one way to find out. Its great 3.2 weather and a good chance to surf some bigger stuff before the cold weather sets in for the duration.

Me and a longboarding buddy will probably head down  for 1:00- till closing. Anyone else heading down?

got to the beach in southern RI around dawn and had a blast.  the crowd hadn't showed up and the waves were plentiful.  borrowed supthecreek's 9-6 allwave for a minute, caught a set wave and had my longest ride of the day.  thanks, supthecreek!
SUPed five of the six usual take-off spots.  seemed like everything was breaking the same, which is to say, sweetly.  surf wasn't as big as expected (though i think it's picking up now)  but, boy, gosh, gee, i had fun.
   hope ya'll get some!

Wind was onshore by 2:00 when I got to Newport. Fun waves though....chest to head with the cleanup sets being slightly head+. Surfed until about 6:00...pleasantly sore tonight.

It looked like a zoner convention out there... ;D

Great after work session a little more east in RI. Overhead. Few people out. Awesome

Definetly a great time with some great Zoners keeping the energy and stoke pumping, waves were just as Stoneaxe described and for a nice change we seemed to have 70% of the break break just to us PDL Surfers as the proners stayed against the cliff walk (maybe they anticipated nicer sets over there or maybe less wind???). It was how I wish it could be all year long !!!!!!

Wow... I missed this post completely... gotta get used to the new regional aspect.

Glad you guys got some tasty waves!

Surfed with Linter in his homeland... it was a good day... except I sucked.

Posted shots in "Sessions"... but no SUP, just to show the swell. No SUP's  out when I was taking pictures.

Still going off as I post this... but I'm staying out a few days... waiting for the antibiotics to finish. Sucks... but my sinus thingy just has my head screwed up.

Get on it!!!!

sweet shot, StC!  More of the same this morning, except even early some slightly overhead bombs were coming in.  Lasted only an hour due to dr who screwed up my shoulder surgery last february and now i'm in worse pain than ever.  oh well, had a great time anyway.  heal up and come on down again!

I need to go to my backup boards for this weekend. Broke the finbox out of my SoCo on the last wave of the day.....foolishly rode it in to far and when I stepped off I pushed the tail into the sand.... :'(. Could be good though....I need to use the 9-8 and 10-6 more...just so comfortable on the 9' that I rarely use anything else.

Bob
Why don't you borrow my 9'10 Allwave?
I just flat-water it. I think it would suit you well
You are welcome to it... we could meet half way.

Creek....you going to be on Cape Sunday. Good possibility I'll be headed that way. Be fun to play with it for the day anyway. I'll be fine otherwise. It's going to be good for me to get on some of my other boards....the 10-6 is particularly fun when it's glassy.
