Anyone here do tandem SUP paddling?  What's the best way you've found to do this?  (ie. your gf/wife hops onto the front of the board and then you hop on or does she go on the rear of the board?)  Paddling technique for tandem?

The other day my wife and I were just messing around and she hopped onto the 11'6" Surftech soft top near the front of the board and I stood on it just below center.  Seemed to work fine with me standing and paddling and her sitting at the front and enjoying the ride.  ;D

Thanks!

Tandem paddling is very cool I've done with a bunch of folks but I kinda perfected a technique that seems to work.

First I'm a big lad 6'2" 270#  I've had folks on the front up to 150# The front person gets on first. Then pushing the board forward I (the back guy) hop on (Standing) and begin paddling once up to a fair speed. The front person stands up and begins paddling (Opposite side from back persons) It is the back guys DUTY to make sure you are not both paddling on the same side at the same time.
Turning the back back paddles while the front sweeps on one side.
The key to standing up is BOTH must bend their knees keep eyes on the horizon (back guy has to kinda watch the front too)

We've even done this in the surf (Small EC)

Another key [point I know nothing about surftech boards but the best 2 tandem boards are
1) Pau Hana Big EZ (11X32")
2) South County Turtle (10ft X 34")

that's what i know have fun

Thanks for the quick reply.  I'm also a big guy at 6'7", 220lb and the board I would use is 11'6", 32" wide, 5" thick and 245L volume.  I'm going to try this out quite a bit more this weekend.
