JonathanC has been over here for a week or so and man does this guy go.  Up to surf at sunrise for a 3 hour surf session and then downwinder in the afternoon...every day.  We are convinced that he is in training for a paddle back to OZ.

Better than that, he brought with him seven straight days of really beautiful South Shore downwinder conditions.

Yesterday, he got his first on-the-water look at the enigma that we call Riggs.  After a few moments of silence in the car on the way home he started, "that was really nice to see".   :)

Thanks for the kind words Admin. It's fantastic to be here, I'm being treated like royalty.

To me, the ability to meet like minded people is one of the truly great things about a forum like this one - almost off-sets the incredible amount of time I waste on the rotten thing !   ;D

He's also had a nice taste of something else in Hawaii that he doesn't see back home.. Something called Wana..  ;D

Sorry Jonathan.. I shouldn't laugh... (just very jealous that's all).. btw. You're going to miss a big 40 knoter this Saturday and also Oliver has just bought a new Naish 14 to join us on our down-winders.

Yep the mighty Wana....I think I've managed to get about six of the little rotters out. The rest I'm planning on naming, think they are going to be with me for a while so we might as well be friends....

Boy-oh-boy three guys in the down-wind crew on Naish Glide 14's, lucky I've been getting some paddling in over here. What a change compared to last summer in terms of gear and experience, let the old
"best-time" records start falling like 9 pins.

Think we need to get Jeremy over to OZ at some stage just so that we can establish some benchmark times that our children and our childrens children can aspire to.   :)

Glad you're having fun Jonathan. I too had the experience of watching Jeremy perform his magic last spring. I still think he's an alien....with an antigrav device in his boards..... ;D

You guys are too kind. I'd love to make it to OZ one day. I had fun paddling with you guys and am looking forward to joining you on the North Shore for a Maliko run.

Great run yesterday.  Paddled OC2  for the first time with Jack Dyson.  He is an amazing coach.  He had me working harder and paddling faster then I typically do.  Really forced me to test my limits. I learned a ton.   We thought it funny that 9.5 miles didn't seem enough for Jonathan, he had to pass Makena landing and then finish with an upwinder to get his full workout in.  This guy just goes and goes....

I second the motion for JR to come down. Actually, pritty damn good this time of year, powerful north winds.
