Venturi advice for my new cargo well

I opened up the Bark to get some water to dry out over the winter while my 2nd new half knee healed and went a little crazy. I made cargo well that's pretty deep up front and small hollow in back that is molded to match my Pelican case. The front well is below the waterline of as I was building it to fit this insulated fish bag that I use for extra gear sometimes. I also cobbled up a hard fitted cover but water is going to get into the well for sure. Should I be making a direct downward drain for the venturi or angle it back and out the side? I would make a right and left so whichever way it tilted it would be draining.

"if you can't say anything nice....." lol I must be seeming crazy again - and it's not even minus-anything when I paddle these days.  ;)  I'm leaning towards the slant-back tube design because it seems like it will "pump" water out as it sloshes backwards with each stroke... tho' it just occurred to me if I happen to be downwinding (hey it's possible :D ) - the board could be nose down and this would limit getting water out if the only drains are in the back. I would probably not have a LOT of water in there - either capped off with a lid or stuffed full of bag displacing a lot of it. I'm rough on this board - I often edge onto rocky-ish beaches/sandbars then step on the side, grounding it while I walk off it to shore, so I do worry about crushing the venturi if mounted at waterline on the sides. Reading up on venturi designs - found the new SIC with a reverse NACA - does that work? I can't find other examples other than one car mod vendor online and even that one has a little ski jump at the opening to make a low pressure zone while the SIC appears flat. Photo of me opening the lid shows waterline with my heavy self on board.
