Just ordered 6 blanks from Marko.  Going to start with a few kid's Sups (for 8-10 year olds).  Using a 9-1 blank thats 24" wide but with an extra 4" strip sandwiched between 2 stringers for a 28" w blank.  Thinking 8-6 x 26.5ish x 3.75 think in an "all-around/cruiser" template.

The shaping room is just about finished.  I'll post pics of my progress once I get them going.

Good luck raf...looking forward to your post.
I just got back from the BOP and have to have a raceboard now ::)
Hard to find d/h so with some bamboo, tin from the ole barn & 4x8x4" eps sheets..voila!Shaping room...waiting on foam so i had a friend bring a top cut of an old block i had in Pavones.
I had shaped it in to a mini soapbar thing an threw it in the rafters, after him tossing it under his spare tire in the pouring rain in the pu..(argggh) I got it, I looked at it and saw a raceboard(kinda) very taperd on both ends & only 8'6"... i turned it backwards & upsidedown and outlined it.My 5 year old has a new board!!
My first R/B and had to remember a few times if i was shaping the top or botton,,lol
I feel a little better about the the next one, very different then waveboards...waiting on cloth too...pura vida

a few pics of the basement and the shaping room beneath the shop.  Fired up the planer with the vacuum attached and its too loud...I won't hear anyone walk in upstairs.  I'll have to shape in the morning before I open.  Eventually I''ll rig up an alarm system to go off whenever someone opens the door.

This is one of the 9'1" x 24" longboard blanks I had Marko add a 4" center strip to.  Will be perfect for 8-10 year olds.

I can't believe this is my job :P

Nice shack!!!  Looks like you've got plenty of foam there to keep you busy for a while.

1st board shaped!  Took about 3 hours.  Its around 8'9", 28" wide, under 4" thick (I don't have calipers so I'm not sure on thickness).  Gave it plenty of V in the back 3rd figuring a small kid could use a little help getting the board on rail.

One thing I would do differently:  Double stringers are a pain to shape around.  The foam cuts down much faster than the stringers, and its easy to get hollow spots between the stringers.

I don't know if that would be just for a kid.  a lot of the guys on here are going a lot smaller with their boards and having a blast in the surf.  you may want to give that one a go and see what happens. ;D  Good job on the shaping.

Looks great! That's bigger than the largest of my 3 SUPs. I would guess the volume somewhere in the high 90 to low 100 liters. Anyone under 160lbs should be able to surf this no problem.
Aloha,
