Coast Guard responds to HPWA request for vessel reclass w/ back of hand

 2 of my customers where stopped by DNR officers and given warnings about not having a rego sticker last year and at a paddle expo in columbus this April they had a booth set up registering paddleboards along with everything else.

If you need some info, I can shoot you the letter we sent to USCG challenging the designation.

Lots of good background info there about the Windsurfer exception, the racing shell exemption, etc.

A lot of states adopt the vessel classification from the United States Code...

Not sure about Ohio... but most just follow the lead of the USCG.

Been quiet on this issue for awhile as the wife kindly suggested that I simply enjoy my hobby for awhile... I have taken her advice... for awhile...
