FOIL STOKE

Frothers,

Just wondering if anyone runs the Jet HA wings from Naish as a go to SUPFOIL wing? I have the 2140 now and haven learn to flat water start her reliably. I was able to score a rad deal from NAISH on a 1800 front wing as a part of the warranty claim on the S26 75cm alum mast. (I am looking sooo forward to testing my S27 35Carbon 85cm mast BTW).

The 2140 has unreal low speed lift but admittedly feels like she has a really tricky stall speed. Its a mid-high aspect wing so shes fast but I specifically wondering if the move to a 1800 will let me build more sped and effectively release a little better. The 2140 is a bit of a pig. She lifts like crazy but kills my speed often. I wonder if Im in for a treat with less drag and more speed and just thought Id ask the crew.

Has anyone gone down this path?

I am betting on the idea that the 1800 will be a great winging wing so if the SUPFoil exercise doesn't pan out I have that as a go-to.

Im starting to think that Naish is the fight club of the FOIL world.. 1st rule of Naish Foils dont talk about Naish Foils.  ;D

I had the 1800 out the other day and it was really fun. Its faster but seemed like it didnt want to get on plane as fast (which makes sense given the shorter chord length). I felt like I struggled on the 1800 at the time but seeing the video (which by the way is my first seeing myself third person - Big Ups Adam!!)

Im starting to think it may be a good stepping stone for me. Ill def look to the 1800 for a winging wing. But the downfalls of the 1800 VS 2140 may not hold me back from giving the 1800 a go as a SUPfoil carver in my local tidal swell. Seems like it will be faster with little drawbacks other than higher drag and lower stall speed. I think I take that trade. We shall see!

Anyways all good.. cheers from BC Canada.

I saw Robby Naish in 1987 in the Aloha Classic ripping. He blew my mind with what he was doing on the water. Im 8 years old at the time and Ill never forget it. I really never got it into Sailing/windsurf but def got bit by the waterbug later in life.

What I didnt know until super recently was that Naish was just bought by Kubus Sports: https://www.kubus-sports.nl/en

I know you're just messing with me but I couldnt help reply..

How they handled my mast failure (both in messaging and in quick shipping) is super impressive. Its the kind of thing that builds brand allegiance. Ive always been drawn to Slingshot but I have to say Im having lot of fun on the Naish Jet Ha wings.

Peace!
