Hey Chilly,

Just did that route Friday morning starting from the east side of the bridge.  I went into the Marine stadium area, and then back out to Bayside etc.  If you are ever up for another long paddle on the weekdays or weekend.  Give me a shout.

Yeah it really is. Yesterday morning the air and water temperature were about the same. About 76 degrees and 5 knot winds. Canada is a beautiful country. Post some picture when you can.

I'm planning on going back next Saturday, a little different route. I will PM you when I know for sure.

Thanks, Chilly.  Your photos really give a good feeling of what it must be like to paddle there.  I love seeing the city from that perspective.

Nice Pics!
FYI: There's a group that paddles every Saturday morning at 7 am, either Virginia Key (7 miles) or Key Biscayne (12 miles).  You're welcome to join. The start is just down the beach from where you started, adjacent to the Miami Seaquarium.

Thanks for the invite Jorge,
That sounds like fun. There's an equipment rental company by the Seaquarium, is that where your group meets?

I've been planning on going around Virginia key, but wasn't too sure because it looks like there are some shallow flats on the north end of the island and the strong the current at Bear Cut. Now I know it can be done.

Thanks,
Chilly

Old School

Cool post. Might motivate me to do the same here in sleepy little Vero Beach.
