Portland Maine Paddling
« on: August 18, 2012, 09:33:12 AM »
Hi Everyone,
I just moved to Maine and I am looking for some people to paddle with. I'm in the Portland Area. SOPOSup looks like a great shop in the area too.

Anyone interested in starting a Meetup group for paddling? Or just meeting up for the occasional paddle?

Thanks!

Welcome! Now go to Grittys and get a pint  ;D

I'm from midcoast Maine. Born and raised. SOPOSup i believe has organized paddles if you're interested.

Enjoy Maine.

Hi Stinson,

we have a "race" coming up this next Saturday the 25th, leaving Willard Beach in South Portland at 8:30 and paddling out and around Cushings Island by way of Whitehead passage.  About 4.5 miles.  I say "race" because its pretty casual, no prizes (well, maybe some t-shirts and hats?) and free, and I will be paddling slow so I can talk to folks and enjoy the scenery.  Come along and meet some paddlers.
We've got Sup Yoga at Willard Beach in Cape Elizabeth on Monday at 5pm if you have your own board (our rentals are all out).  Check out the facebook page to keep tabs on events Stop by the shop too.

Hi Raf,
I was in on Friday. Awesome shop!

I am not sure if I can make the race. What time do you think it will be over?

I'll be sure to come to SUP yoga on Monday.

Welcome to Portland Stinson.  Great place to live and SUP.  Willard Beach and Kettle Cove in Cape Elizabeth are a couple if good places to launch.  See you out there.

Thanks MaineSUP! I love it here. So many great places to paddle. Still haven't put in at Willard yet though. We should organize a group paddle!
