Wanting to get a bigger board than my 10'6 Laird that is good to flat water paddle and surf and am looking at the 11'6 Generator. I like the look of the rocker ( not too much ) and the thinned out ends and fairly low rails. Plenty of volume for me as well but am unable to demo one of these. Does anyone have any reports on this board ? Was also looking at the 12 foot Pearson Arrow Laird but there are none here is Australia and not much info around on the new company making the Laird boards.

How tall/ heavy are you? The 12' LPA is a lot of board but one of the funnest, cruisiest boards I've had the pleasure of surfing but I'm 6'2 and about 125kg. If I could get hold of a decent pre-loved one in my part of OZ I'd be on it. If you're sub-100kg though there are plenty of good choices available in OZ
In theory, there should be no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is...

I have a surftech generator and love it!! surfs really well, I use it mainly in smaller surf. I stupidly sold my laird 12.1 and bought the generator as a replacement and am really happy with it ..... with the low rocker you can catch anything!!

Upwinder I'm around 6 feet tall and 90 kilos . I just want a big glider that will also turn well . I surfed longboards a lot before going to SUP after a back injury and have a pretty good idea of what I want and the Generator looks pretty good. The Laird 10'6 was my first board and it took me a while to get the feel of it but now I really like it. I know the Surftech distributor in OZ and he tells me that there will be no more Laird 12'1"s coming over. I would have loved to have a ride on one.
Cheers Funkart . It sounds just what I'm looking for.
