There is a new documentary out on HBO called "Gasland" that is well worth watching. While not directly ocean related, it does deal with inland water pollution by natural gas drillers. They use a process called "fracking" that uses a chemical brew to get natural gas out of deep wells. The only problem is that it contaminates the local water table which then leaches into the watershed.

The "best" part is when the filmmaker shows how homeowner's water wells get inundated with natural gas, and actually can be lit on fire coming out of the tap into the sink.

Un*&^%%$$@believable.

Thanks for the heads up. Sound like a good one. What part of the country is this documentary taking place ? Sounds so messed up .

I heard an interview with the filmmaker. It is in the NE somewhere

Interesting guy. A gas compnay contacted him to try to buy leasing rights on his land, and it got him interested in the story.
