nice did u epoxy it 1st?

No.. It's just to seal it till a proper fix is done.. I think it's better than just using tape.

Can anyone see anything wrong with using nail polish as a touch up paint and sealer?

Not at all, DJ... I use it all the time for little chips and/or scratches...  Later,   JD

If there were an (hair line crack) entry into the core, nail polish would be dangerous. It could eat a huge cavity into the core foam.

I keep 5 minute epoxy in my truck, should I find a ding and need an instant seal to keep surfing.

Might be true on some brands, DW. Depends on whether or not the manufacturer wraps the rails with a "high density" foam or not. I know the Nahs are wrapped top, bottom and rails...   Later,   JD

If its just paint chips that are looking bad but don't affect the integrity of the board then you can just handpaint over them. A couple of years ago I took one of my waveskis to an auto paint shop and had them match the paint and give me a small can that I could use periodically as needed. Recently I had a small ding in the rail of my go to SUP, a red 9'6" PSH wide AA. After several failed attempts by me to fix it properly I dropped it of at the local authorized SurfTech surfboard repair guy. He fixed it to where I couldn't even see where the ding was! ($40.00)...and best of all he had mixed paint to match and gave me the extra... which I immediately used to cover all paint chips or scratches that had accumulated over the last year of surfing. Extra paint was free!!  Board looks great....and I have plenty of left over paint for future needs...Tim

I from the who cares school.  It can't look new forever.  Use it and gain the scars of use.  As long as they don't leak no problems.  Most breaks are far enough from shore that those chips aren't noticeable.  What is noticed is how well you surf.  Concentrate on ripping and showing the prone crowd what they are missing.

I repaired a couple of paddle hits last week. Only did the repair so I could sand the area back to be sure there were no cracks, as it turned out there were none. I took the board to my local auto paint shop and spent some time with the owner mixing a good colour match, then had that colour put in an aerosol can. The patch up is near impossible to see now.
