I had a great flat water paddle this AM.  Afterwards I skated around MDR on my longboard with my Kauhna Big Stick.  Lots of fun and some additional exercise.  Anyone else a Big Stick'er?

I am into it... wife likes to roller blade... I big stick with her... usually at Dana Point, from the Tall SHips to Beach road... a blast and a good workout.

I got a carver board with air tires wit bamboo big stick. Same board Blaine chambers has a thread on. Trucks on this board carves like how you would a bottom turn and cutback. Very realistic only when you fall it's not pleasant. Most realistic land training hands down if your practicing surfing.

Here's a few pictures that I took yesterday while mucking around with the BigStick.

Tom,

Looks groovy.  I am going to have to get a Carveboard... when I try to carve on my long skateboard, the rear wheels slide out like crazy... fun, but a bit un-nerving...

When you are down in San Diego you can try mine.  I have the lttle carve for traveling and the big carve with inflatable wheels for my local hills.

I've tried a few downwind runs along the boardwalk of the bay here. Has good potential in a strong SE

What's the big difference with the wheels? Why traditional compared to inflatable wheels?

Tom English

The downhill board has inflatable wheels.  They are very grippy and the air smooths out the ride.
The small one is easier to travel with.  The big one rules the hills.

Aside from the fact that this just looks inherently fun, does it help with "training" with SUP on days you can't go out?  Yes, I realize there are very few of those days, but...you get the idea.

It is a land simulator of a wave.  Downhill carving helps you develop the timing to properly lean on the stick to maximize leverage on your turns.  Switching from side to side helps when you get on the water.
