I thought the record was kind of silly. The Denver Post article deservedly poked some fun at it, all in good humor. Does surfing have any Guinness Records? I think not... My impression is that Guinness records are a contrived artifice for unabashed glory seekers.

However, if there's any one feat that deserves special recognition in river running... it's the recent 186' drop of Palouse Falls by Tyler Bradt
