It's ALL silly. That's why I love these boards so much. You can do EVERYTHING with them, and none of it is serious.

I have a nice takedown Werner Kayak paddle that I sometimes bring along on really long paddles, in case the wind kicks up and I'd like to get somewhere before the sun goes down.

kimanjo ,  I also have the Bic jungle ,    I also enjoy kayaking   it   but  I do  it kneeling  rather than  seated..., the padded deck and the position of kneeling  puts the paddler in a  nice efficient  paddling position ... if you   get a kayak paddle for her and make  a little handle for one one of the kayak blades  , you can use the same paddle  for  standup   as well as  kneeling  and can vary from  standup paddling to kneeling kayaking with the same paddle . I find  trying to paddle the Jungle   from a seated position awkward because  as you point out  the seat needs to be higher then the feet for  it to  be efficient . rdk jones  solution of  a  kneeling  canoe  type seat  I think is  optimum for  a seat for standup  boards. ..  the kneeling position is very  stable  in choppy water  ..

I agree with  PonoBill ,  especially for flat  water  , touring applications ,  anything goes ... and most everything works !      I personally like  varying my paddling position  on long tours a lot  for distance paddling  ,cruising and touring ..  I used to use a modified  Kayak paddle   with a handle  like I mentioned... now   I just use a C4 stendy adjustable  paddle  . For my height   , kneeling with the  paddle reduced in length , it is just optimal  for canoe  type kneeling paddling .. it is very efficient and feels like paddling my canoe  , when I feel like it    I just pop to my feet and extend the paddle and then have an efficient  standup paddle .. pretty cool !  By the way knee paddling   SUP  boards   with a canoe or kayak paddle is very efficient and  comfortable .. just  ask  the distance open ocean   paddleboarders who  paddle  long distance on their  knees just with their hands ... or ask Blane Chambers who pioneered Canoe paddle surfing  before he  got into Standup ...     add an efficient  proper size paddle from a kneeling position on  an SUP and you have a very efficient  and comfortable paddling platform .
