Went for a paddle with a buddy to the outflow of the Ainsworth Hotsprings on Kootenay lake last weekend. One of those spots that doesn't look like much at all from a ways out, but it's pretty cool up close. Would have been amazing to see before the resort set up shop. We left from Queens Bay(Balfour ferry terminal) to Ainsworth and it was about a 20km paddle there and back with some meandering up and down the shore line. Good conditions too. Had about a 15knot tail wind for the first several kilometres and then it calmed right down. Nice easy push with some knee high rollers to get us where we wanted to be. No headwind on the way back, and we actually got a bit of a tailwind for a few clicks. Love these days because I'm really out of shape right now, and it was a good pick me up.
Cheers.

Beautiful place to paddle. It doesn't get much better having a tailwind both ways.
