This is for surfing but could easily adapt toward SUS

Cool video. It makes me think about the limitations of having the paddle in our hands when you see those arms lead the way.

I need to do some dry land work with my paddle on these twisting moves. The fast vs slow turn thing was a revelation.

Thanks for posting that vid, HM. That's some good stuff.

I've always liked analysis of sports technique. I like the way the lean and the twist when turning are broken down in this video and explained in terms of your speed. Made me think about compression and extension as well.

Thanks hm... good timing on this video, since compression/extension has been coming up a lot lately.

Interesting! Never thought about the palm up vs down in a twist, but instantly remembered pictures of the greats.... and the flair of the open palm in a sweeping cutback.

The reason I have always put Kelly above everyone is his carve..... he surfs like he is on tracks.... he carries more speed thru his turns than anyone else. He maintains the speed through linked turns, where he never seems to go off a rail.... his flow is amazing.

He can also handle more G-forces than normal humans. :)

Interesting about the subtleties of balance.  Who woulda thought that palm up or palm down would matter, except as a form of sculptural elegance.

I am going to try the BOSU and weight ball stuff next time I'm at the gym.
