Mate  i have at least 50 AAA Eveready Rechargables and after a full charge all of them work for at least 1hr 30 - 40 mins without fail. What charger are you using??  A quality 30 min quick charger is best.

Rambo or anyone

I used the rechargeable energizers and they sucked. Not many vids. I thought those were the recommended batteries or did I miss something. Should I cycle the batteries the first time?

stoneaxe

I had an energizer go bad or something...just wouldn't hold a good charge. Just that one out of the pack went bad though.

I noticed the documentation recommends LioN for cold weather. Not a problem for you Byron but my NiCads aren't lasting all that long...and hour at best.

Ok again the batteries died. Different set of recharges and lasted 20 minutes non continous. They are energizer rechargeable 900mah 1.2 nimh . Help would be appreciated.

What charger are you using Byron??

Don't leave them in the GoPro over nite,  load them just before you use them.

It is an energizer wall charger. Does the battery get drained sitting overnight? I spoke to a friend today who put non rechargeable batteries and he got zero footage...Could the devil be taking over these gopro's?
Ideas?

Byron,  you need to eliminate whatever is causing the problem in an orderly fashion.  9.9 times out of 10 it's not the GoPro. Of all the people contacted me or posted in the GoPro Forum, none had a faulty GoPro.

It's either a corrupt flash card, incorrect menu settings,  Battery Charger, batteries or just plain human error. Read the horror stories in the Forum.

1. Reformat the card to FAT not Fat 32
2. Check the settings in the menu.
3. Borrow another charger, preferably a 30 min fast charger, the 8 - 12 hr wall charges are useless.

How to do all this is in the GoPro Forum where you are a member.
http://goprouser.freeforums.org

If all that fails, then the devil it is.

Cheers Rambo

PS  Why would your friend put alkaline batteries in the GoPro and expect it to work when it is recommended not to use them in the instructions.

Byronmaui

Rambo - Thanks and what do you mean by menu settings? I will reformat all the cards and get a quick charger....I think my friend used non rechargeable batteries like lithium or whatever. It was cold this morning maybe that was the problem.

No Menu ??? sounds like you need to get acquainted with the GoPro and the book of instructions Byron ..hahha.

It needs to be really cold before you need Lithium, not on Maui at any time.

I know the menu but what on the menu would cause this? Never had this problem til I went rechargeable like you recommended. Are you setting me up for failure?..... :) :) :)

How else am i going to win the video contest if i don't eliminate you ...hahahaha

I'm confident it's not the menu, but some people have been known to set it on shut down after 300seconds.

Let's know how you go.

Cool Rambo I will try charging batteries the night before not 2 days ahead and see what happens and all the other things you recommend.

I tried the recharge methods and only got 20 minutes of video time. I did this several times. Hell upon your recommendation I got a new quick charger. Not pointing the finger.... ;D ;D...F ;Finally called energizer and they are sending me new batteries to see if problem is battery. Stay tuned........

Byron, if you turn the camera back on again immediately after it shuts down, do you then get another 20mins on the the same batteries??

No....Just dead Rambo..  :D

Check this test out.....I just ran alakaline duracell batteries on 4 gopros. 2 in video and 2 in continous pics and the results were they worked all the way til the end. Could I have stumbled on to the motherload where these gopros accept costco duracell bulk AAA regular batteries? Did my chinese relatives send me the special gopro akaline acceptable save money cameras that are not influenced by energizer? Something tells me the bunny is not hopping correctly here... ;) ;) ;)

You got bad rechargeables then. .... bloody weird. No - one else can get any more than 1/2 hr out of alkalines .... you are indeed blessed with multiple talents.....hahahah

What have you done to upset the Bunny??
