This is super cool.

Ever have a hard time expressing an Idea in 2D..

This thing is to me a breakthrough in drawing expression..

There's a few of these on the market now. I think I'd rather build a digital model and have a 3D printer do the grunt work for most things but these would be fun to play with. I'm sure someone will do serious work with them but there's a reason most of the video they show is speeded up....tedium.

Hardly world's first, these things have been around since the beginning of 3D printing. Mount a printhead in a handle and push media through it. I can't imagine doing that by hand. robotic work without the robot. fun for kids though.

Here's one from a cataloger that always claims everything they have is the first, best, biggest, smallest. I guess it works: http://www.hammacher.com/Product/86006?cm_cat=ProductSEM&cm_pla=AdWordsPLA&source=PRODSEM&gclid=CK239aHt0sMCFc9lfgod9WoAQw

Google 3D Doodler and you get a long list of manufacturers building them. I don't get why these guys are claiming it's new--or why it took them a year to design something they could buy at an arts and craft store.

But they've already been to China! That means they found someone to build it super cheap, and they are going to possibly make even more money. So their message is? Support China?
It's not overhead to me!

Happened to do a search in Amazon--they have 20 pages of 3D Doodle pens.

There once new a guy from MIT, who thought he had invented the first 3D.
Along came Bill, with his Google search kill, and made the guy look like he was from USC:)
