Heat wave in the L41 today. 91 degrees on the beach. So glad I ride a stand up. Ankle biters at best, but super clear water and surfed in trunks twice today.

I don't think I would have had as much fun riding anything else.

Forecast today for San Diego is 97 at the beach.  Gonna pick up my first SUP board today.  Perfect timing, eh?

SW,
I will be down at the L41 tomorrow afternoon and Friday morning.  Hopefully we get a little south bump in with a bit of push.  I got used to trunking it last week down in So-Cal, and its been awhile since I have done it in SC. Hope to see you out.

Anytime you are picking up a new board is perfect timing in my book!

I think yesterday was one of the few days when SC L41 was as hot as inland.   I'll be going back to SC tonite.

Kurt, maybe see you out there Thurs., bro!  Great report on the King's boards and factory tour.

So stinking hot and windy.  Newport Beach feels like the Mojave Desert!  No wetsuit needed although the wind has cooled the water a bit, I think.

I was out there early this morning again in just trunks. The swell is too steep from the south (180 degrees) to amount to anything, but even with tiny waves the incredibly glassy water and very warm temps makes me so glad I am a stand up kinda guy. Maybe the direction will shift to at least 190 or so.

Supposed to reach 98 degrees this afternoon. Time to bodysurf Santa Mo's.
Hope to see you somewhere in the L41 tomorrow.

Thanks, just did two 1 hour sessions here in the harbor with my new board (Starboard Avanti).  I'm trying to learn as fast as I can so I can start playing in the surf.  The last few days have been perfect for SUP surfing, 1-2 foot and glassy.

80 degrees when I got off the water at 11 am this morning at Westport, WA!

Beauty day, snow capped Olympics to the north, and a 4' bump with an offshore breeze.  8)

Not enough South swell to warm the water yet, so it was still borderline headache cold.

Being on a stand up keeps me out of the water enough that I am ordering a 3/2 right now.
Make paddleboarding great again!

So much fire here...

the heat here in LA led me to go with just boardshorts - but i think the cold water caused me to pull a groin muscle as i was pulling off my first cutback  :)

I trunked it for the first time in over 30 yrs today at San'O. Caught a few waves, and watched an epic fire. I'm old now, so I got tired, but I caught a few, thanks to Capobeachboy, on an Uli, that will last a lifetime. Thanks Chris!
