Anyone out there using any software or websites for route planning, or tracking?  I was considering building myself an app to track and share my routes, wanted to see if anyone here would be interested in it as well

No need to build anything. Google maps is basic but does a nice job. This is the World Downwind map I made awhile ago. Anyone can collaborate, just add them to the list. Mileage readout is automatic/dynamic as you draw a line along a route..

And this that I did for the CCBC. You can show items of interest, embed geocoded pics and videos, links to related stuff. The dialog boxes associated with each route or item allow a lot of info to be shared.

That's just for planning and sharing. There are lots of GPS units with tracking software and apps for phones.

I used geodistance.com with running and now am using for SUP too....I use it to plot in advance and post-paddle....helps me see how populated an area is and what boat ramps might be like...I like it.
