For those who do overnight trips/expeditions where on the board do you place your heaviest gear?  In sea kayaking we would put the heaviest gear or supplies (water) behind our seats leaving the bow/stern for lighter gear to manuever easily. do you distribute gear evenly on the nose and tail or just nose?  thanks..

I'm planning an overnight trip soon so I'm interested what people will say.

On all the overnight trips I have taken - I try to distribute it evenly front and back.
Seems to work well so far.
Easy Rider is the name of my store in Edmonton, AB, Canada.
My name is Warren Currie . . . and we SUP Surf indoors . . . in a shopping mall!

I noticed on my longer, 14' more streamlined board that I got a little squirrely packing to much up front compared to my "regular" board and will distribute more evenly next time.

Easy Rider is right, one should try to keep the boards weight distribution equal.
Though that brings up the question of board volume...a dedicated touring board should have more volume than one you paddle unloaded..
The Starboard touring models (which E.R. Had a hand in designing) have a bit more volume than some other supposed "touring" boards. It also helps if some of that volume is in the nose and tail - typically where most boards have hard points for attaching the load.

It ain't over until the fat board sinks....
