this was pretty intense to witness and I hope that it translates in video - I have to say that these three athletes impressed the tester , Saul Blau, MS who has worked with Olympians and such.

i actually dont know how they calculate power and increase the power load on the tester.  I have been on VO2 max tests before on a bike(stationary but i was also tested on a portable VO2 max unit too).  From what im understanding they increase paddle strokes until the tester fails to perform to keep up with the # of require strokes.  Vo2max is one of my least favorite riding activies i have ever done, by the end of test, i felt like crap and the mouth piece hurt my gum.
