Newbomb-

Sent you a pm so you can get in touch when you get here. Got good news from the ear doc today so I should be back in the water next week! I'll keep track of swell and conditions and get you pointed in the right direction. Hopefully we'll get a good swell and all charge up to Dogpatch to bug the SoCal family and the rest of the OC/SD contingent that lurks there every time it gets overhead! If it gets good you'll get the longest waves of your trip there.

If you can check out Pizza Port Brewing company

I tried to make reservations there for this summer. Apparently that's not happening. All full... All summer. How early do you have to make reservations?

Reservations are tough. You kinda have to get long term reservations six months in advance, or like I usually do. Start looking a little in advance, as little as three days, and then grab something as people cancel. The State Park System allows you to reserve way in advance but requires 72 hours to cancel without a penalty. So people book spots then dump them.  Easy if you live close, a pain if you're coming from out of state.

Photo,

We made our reservations back in October. Yeah, it's a hot spot. Weeknights still have some openings here and there. Good luck.

We have stayed there many times, having to move to another site every couple of days.  Its ok to do this with a motorhome, but would really be a pain with tents.  Its still worth it even if you have to move during the week.
I think if you want to extend your stay and don;t have a site, you can wait in line in the morning and get sites from no shows.
It always makes me mad when we see many empty sites, while we are there.
Not sure exactly what their no show policy is.  I would hope they would release those sites quickly.

Would this be a good place for a reunion (pre-union)?

Think youre onto something there Tom-only thing is that its hard to find parking to meet everyone.

Sano is the logical place to me though for a weekend SUZ get together-i have SUZ get togethers all the time there without knowing or planning it!
Lots of space to roam and it would be fun to all paddle over to Old Mans and stage a "Stand-Up-In"!!-They cant give us ALL tickets!!

Here! Finally. Damn.

Got an afternoon Wednesday session off the campgrounds. Saw 3-5 sups. I'm demoing a green 9' 7 Ron House. Love the step down size. Will be hitting the campground peaks each morning... 6-7 ish. Say hello if you're a Zoner. Campsite 70-71. Stop by for a cold one. Kneecap, I'll ring you up tomorrow. Looking for a longer ride.

Cheers
