i was looking to get the Naish 14 but not real sure about the amount of rocker. Has anybody tried the Naish 14 and Maliko 14. Curious on which one has a lower rocker. If the Maliko is a little lower,,,,does anybody know someone looking to lessen their quiver.

Aloha Dakine,

Not sure if the Maliko's are all the same, but the Maliko 14 I just bought used - about 1.5 yrs old - has less rocker than the Bullet 14.  So for the Naish's, the Maliko rocker is between the glide and the Javelin,  I think.

Note that there is a new Glide 14 that has less rocker than the old one (saw it here somewhere).

Aloha!

Owens Ocean Sports is producing a hollow molded version of the 14' Foote Maliko, on Maui.  Mike Owens makes great boards, surf skis, and OC-1s.  Jeremy Riggs has turned in some great results on that board.

The maliko 14 has less rocker.  Mike, Jeremy and Bill Foote worked together to develop the molds for the aircore maliko 14's.  I'm pretty sure they are exactly the same shape.  You can check with Mike or Jeremy for details.

Check out Mike's facebook page at Aircore-Maui.

He also makes custom oc-1 paddles, truly exceptional quality.  All wood, composite and all carbon - with no seams.

I'm picking one up today.  Very, very comfy with an unbelievable catch and release.  He calls the blade face an 's' bend.  I'll post a pic later.

There's no comparison between the Maliko 14 and the Naish Glide 14. I've owned both, still have a Glide. A Maliko is much faster than a Glide, much better in swells. The only reason I have a Glide is it works in the steep-faced short fetch swells of the Columbia River. And it's my test mule, with through-hull holes in numerous places. I doubt anyone would ever buy it unless they wanted to take underwater pictures of paddles.

The only reason I sold my Maliko 14 is that I was stupid. Or maybe just crazy.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

I was lucky enough to buy a used Maliko14 from La Perouse Larry  last summer.
These boards are fast. Mine is the first generation Like Jeremy's 24"er.
BF got it right when he designed these.......Way ahead of their time.
