I have had some wonderful pearls on the 17, some complete with the superman off the front.  I wish I had video, some of those episodes would be hilarious to see.  The nose does not push upward once it goes under.  It keeps slicing underwater until enough of the board is submerged that it bucks the rider.

It requires really fast footwork to get to the back of the board immediately to prevent the otherwise inevitable.
