Travel paddle
« on: December 28, 2010, 04:49:05 AM »
So for you guys that travel with your boards what paddle do you bring along?

I have been looking at the 3pc Werner and the 3pc C4.

I would rather have a one piece, but with all of the flying I do, it makes the most sense to buy a really high quality 3 pc and skip the 1 piece.

Would love some feedback on these paddles or any other travel paddles I should look at.

Thanks

I have a 3pc werner nitro, its a great travel paddle and even for everyday use the only thing is because its a 3 pc it is actually stiffer than a 1 pc

if you do get one dont forget to rinse it after you use it bc water gets trapped in there

I was lucky enough to have use of Linter's 3 piece Werner Nitro for a few weeks this summer, and found no performance difference from my own one piece Nitro.  It's very well made, the joints are fitted to a close tollerance and the paddle performs as if it were a single piece shaft.  I would absolutely buy one of these as a travel paddle, but wouldn't hessitate to use it on an every day basis either.

FYI, I was at QB recently and Jim has a really bitchin new 3 piece paddle. The best I've seen! It doesn't appear on the QB site, so you might want to contact them for availability.

Great thanks guys!  That is what I was hoping to hear.  I will also look into the quick blade paddle.  I guess my only hesitation now is if the holes that make it adjustable will be where my bottom hand rests.

I ended up with an adjustable werner paddle when I rented in Hawaii and found that the holes slightly bothered me.  Anyone know if that will be the same with the 3pc Werner or the QB.

Thanks again

Holes were not an issue on the 3 piece Werner for me.

Just got back from Puerto Rico with an 11 ft ULI and a 3 piece Werner fuse.  Loved them both.  The adjustable works out great for me and my wife.  Solid construction, no wiggle at all.  The only thing that bugs me a little is the edge of the adjustable section.  As I switch sides, I notice the edge as I slide the bottom hand to the top.
