SEA--You bring up something that is one of the most ironic things about Portland.  The Willamette River, the heart of this self-proclaimed Green Capital of the World, is also a literal sewer.   The contrast with Seattle and all its much-cleaner water is remarkable--although few Portlanders would ever admit that Seattle or anywhere else can trump Portland in anything environmental. 

But the thing that gets to me even worse than a polluted river is the self-righteousness and idiocy that goes on here in the name of sustainability.  Last week I walked by a restaurant advertising "sustainable cocktails", and they didn't mean free refills.  I've gotten flack--while walking my human-powered board to the river from my house--for daring to tread on the shore of the river, because it is "salmon habitat", while power boats speed by in the background.  I have neighbors who because of their location along the river literally are required by Portland's land use regulations to go through a City Council hearing, and spend thousands of dollars on permit applications to add a bay window onto an existing house.  Their obvious solution is not to go through the hearing--which would cost 10 or 20 times the construction cost of their project-- but to move to Vancouver and commute.  The City is closing off river access and even views from public parks in the name of environmental habitat restoration, turning off the very people who would otherwise be most supportive of cleaning up the river.   People who attempt to rehabilitate derelict buildings in the urban core get charged the same $$$k "system development" fees for transportation and parks that were intended to discourage suburban sprawl. 

So to me, the bigger stealth danger to the environment isn't contrails, but over-zealousness in the name of sustainability, because as it progresses it is turning the same population that is generally supportive of sustainability against it.  That may not be true elsewhere, but it certainly is here.

I can't take it.  I made it through the first 5 minutes with a bunch of "weathermen" saying these clouds look funny.  Is there anyone of any expertise anywhere in the video?

Maybe someone with real objective evidence?  All I see is a bunch of self-claimed experts stating these are something other than contrails.  It is a tough call as to who is more credible, Jenny McCarthy or these guys.  Maybe that O'Donnell witch or Sarah Palin would like to chime in.  Between the lot of them, they might be able to screw in a lightbulb.

You want scientific evidence?  Get a a jet up in the air that is outfitted to collect the contrails that are coming out of planes.  Follow some planes that look as if they are spraying.  Test the collected material.

There is a conference with expert scientists at a symposium sponsored by Carnegie foundation, openly talking about seeding the environment with Alumina and Barium (10 Megatons) . That is at about 7 minutes into the documentary !!!. Again Please watch the WHOLE documentary before you write about this. Thats not asking much. Someone does not write a review of a book and say they only read one chapter but the book is bogus ? Just does not sound very intelligent.

There have been hundreds of tests and they talk about them in the documentary, they find Alumina and Barium in extremely high doses.

Did you watch the whole thing. watch at the 7 minute mark. These scientists are openly saying that they are seeding the atmosphere with Alumina , 10 megatons !!! And that they don't have a clue what it will do to the environment or our health. If that alone does not concern you then I guess you can go on drinking the kool aide.  I watch these planes spraying every day here in Hawaii and a quarter mile to a mile away are commercial planes coming in to our airport and flying out but they don't have any trials what so ever. Why is that.  

This is a new phenomenon that I never saw 20 years ago . Honolulu is a meca for airline flights all day long and no trails behind them.
