difference between touring board and race board?

Just out of curiosity, are you finding that there are major differences between "touring" boards and "race" boards?

funny you should ask this question. i recently bought a starboard Pin, which is more of a touring board and just put it up for sale. Nothing wrong with the board, but it's more of an all-around board, really stable, but also very wide and a touch heavy, so it's going to be a little slower than a true race board, and yes, it's at least $600 less than a race board! i wouldnt use it as a race specific board by any means.
