Maliko was rocking and rolling today, exceptionally fun.

Jeremy had another personal best, on his Foote maliko 14.  He did a 56:10 to the harbor entrance.  He's been pretty busy with work and the family, unable to train daily like the old days.  Pretty good speed for a part timer.

Randy and I started about a hundred yards behind him.  I think Randy caught him, but I couldn't.  We were both in 21-6 oc-1's.

I had my personal best of 59:20.  I'm very pleased to have broken the hour, very pleased.

Hi Noa,

I really don't know how I did so well today. I was just as surprised at my time as you are. I haven't been able to train as much as I used to; so lately I just go with the flow and  don't paddle so hard. Maybe I'm learning more and surfing the bumps better by not being overly aggressive with my paddling. Maybe today was just a Father's Day gift for me. There are still guys here on Maui that I am constantly chasing.

Still waiting for you to come out to Maui and see the Maliko run for yourself.

-Jeremy

Really great conditions today....Way to go Jeremy.. I was on a new Maliko 14 and it worked great. Second run on it and seemed to be getting it figured out...Always takes awhile to dial in a new board. Took Venus Wolfe on her first ever run. I'd have to say I don't think it will be her last.

Great runs Jeremy and Larry.  What makes them even more impressive is that the day was great, but not really one of those off the charts days.  Awesome times!

A great winter of waves, followed by a summer of epic winds.  This was just one of many perfect Maui weekends.
Yesterday I lent my f16 to Tomoko who came in under 1:30 to the sand.  Really impressive as it was her first time on this board.  I used the Naish 14 glide and made it to the harbor mouth in 1:14 arriving just in time to see Devin hit shore.  The run was so fun, and I really enjoyed the board.  I remember thinking last year a 1:14 would have made my day, but now I was little bummed that I fell once and lost some time.   It's inspiring to paddle with such skilled and determined paddlers. This year, with everyone getting so damned fast, I have to set a new record each run or I don't feel as though I tried hard enough.

Hi Jeremy,
great to hear back from you and thanks for letting me know that you have no idea how you did that time  ;D
gotta hand it to you, you gotta be doing something right.
there are guys on Maui that you're chasing ? who would that be, guys in speed boats ???
what about the time you did the other day on your old 12'6, how was that run ?
yes i'm still waiting and wanting to get back to Maui for some Maliko action with all of you guys. i'm actually looking into possibly comming over this winter, do some volunteer work on an organic farm and some Malikos of course.

Chan, way to go on your Maliko times! i can only imagine what you describe about the pressure being on when you paddle with such a crew.
btw, how did you find the Glide 14' ?

Hi Noa,

I'm really enjoying the Glide 14 lately.  It's great in sideshore-ish conditions and super fun on swell.  We've been blessed with plenty of both this week.  You have to get out here and try some boards with us.  Let us know if we can help to make it happen.  Aloha!

Did I hear a proposal?  I hope you are on one knee.  Come visit, worry about the rest later. Anyway, if residency were required to live here the population would be quartered.  ;)

actually i'm on both knees. and begging !
in all seriousness, maybe i have to look into a way of staying there for longer.
last time i was there in 07, it broke my heart to leave. having said that, the island where i live (Crete) is not that bad either, but it's not Maui...
