I can't find volume numbers for PSH 10'6" Wide AA?
I'm 225 6'"3...do we think it will be a good board in surf and Lagoon?
I 3/4 sink C4 Classic 10'6" and Oxbow Cruiser 11"
I think Blane posted volume numbers on here at one point and time.  Run a search and you'll see it.  Volume for the 10'6" was around 165 if I remember correctly.  At 225, you'll be fine on the WAA for surf and some cruising.  Forum Member Motopilot and I will routinely paddle 2 miles to a different break here in Florida, surf for an hour or two and then paddle back.  I'm on the 10'6" WAA and I'm heavier than you.  He's done it on the 9'2" aa, but he's one of those light guys around 185.

Currently riding the 11' PSH WAA with Halos and weigh 250. I've used the Starboard whopper and hero, also the PSH10'6 WAA and 9'6 WAA. If you want stability I'd go with the Starboard Whopper with the 11 PSH right behind it. My personal preference for surfing would be the PSH all sizes mentioned. From the smallest ankle waves to over head it's never let me down.  The nice long linear lines and the volume of the 11 PSH makes it great for glide. At your weight I'd go straight to the 10'6 WAA and not look back. Both brands are tons of fun depending on experience and preference. Demo demo demo! gl  ;D

Hi Mike,

Don't know if you're still looking in the LA area for PSH boards, but Action Watersports in Marina Del Rey has a few models in-stock and they had them down at the demo last week.  Stop in and see Jay about taking one out.

Let me know if you ever want to try a Coreban or C4.  We're out all the time.

Roland,
Thanks for the head's up!  I didn't know Action Watersports carry PSH.
I was going to try to attend the demo a couple wks ago, but something came up.

I find that most of my sup'ing is up/down the coast for 2-3miles, looking for an uncrowded surf break to surf a few waist high waves, so anxious to see how a PSH 10'6" or 11' would handle both duties of cruising up/down coast as well as surfing smallish waves.

Thanks for the offer on the C4 or Coreban.  I may take you up on it someday:)

Action is having a demo this Friday of race boards.  Call them and ask to try the PSH if you can make  it: http://www.socalpaddleboard.com/forum/index.php?topic=25.0

heres an email i received yesterday from the folks at PSH, maybe you'd be interested in the 10'11" model,
but it won't be out for a bit..

Hey Pete,

We are coming out with new Ripper models that are wider.  I have listed the wider Ripper models that are coming out.

9'4" x 30" x 4"
9'11" x 31" x 4 3/8"
10'6" x 31" x 4 5/8"
10'11" x 32 x 4 5/8"

NOTE: No, we do not have pictures of these new models yet.

The first 2 listed should be in the shop some time next week.  The other 2 listed will be in the shop towards the end of July.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call.  Thanks.

Mahalo,
Tiff

Width.

Sitting lower in the water is more stable, as long as it's not too low  ;D

Width, but not only just at the middle. A pointed nose, high rockered board will be definitely less stable than a low rockered full nose, so take that into account. PSH boards have great stability and paddling ability, but the "ripper" shape may not be the best if you have stability problems compared to the AA, (I didnt try the new models though)
