THIS was bound to happen: Cross Training on land.

I'm just trying to get over the cheese factor of it, on land of course.
Hmmmm, maybe maybe use a shovel handle with an old skateboard wheel srewed to the end. Make a t-handle at the end of the shovel handle.

I actually rode a Kahuna board with that paddle thing and got a quick video clip of Liam at C4 riding it down a hill.  It'll be on www.standuppaddlesurf.net soon.  It's pretty funny.

I bought a Kahuna skateboard and the big stick at Surf expo to play with the kids on  the driveway. It's a decent skateboard and the stick has been fun. Although an old paddle would do about the same. I felt pretty silly paying $40 for a stick with a hunk of rubber on the end, now looking at the website I see I got a bargain. ;D

That's cool, always nice to see creativity in action.  I wonder if you skated in on banks at a skatepark, if it would similate the waveriding techniques, or it that would be dangerous.

We have some small kine ditch action that I have not edited.....I would love (if I was younger) to try it in the ditch at the back of Hawaii Kai. The one with the big wall..

Which ditch are you speaking of?  The one that runs along the golf course in Kalama Valley, or the one in Mariner's Valley that they call "Uluwatu"??

On a side note, one of these days I wanna venture over to Niu Valley & pose with my board at Wallows.  Growing up watching The Search For Animal Chin, that spot was always legendary to us skaters who grew up in California.  Maybe the Kahuna board would be epic for a photoshoot over there (I've heard they cut a chasm through the middle, but it's still probably sorta carveable).  I've got the camera & lenses in case anyone is interested!

Uluwatu's thats the one. Be kind of neat with the Kahuna Stick there. If Kahuna Creations ever needs a photo shoot I will definetly give them your name.

Cool cool, I'm down to shoot even if we're just messing around & it's nothing official.  I work in Hawaii Kai, so it'd be pretty easy to blaze over there.

Years ago I made my own version of the Kahuna stick and used it with my Carve Stik which has skateboard wheels and it was OK.     Tried it on my regular long board skateboard and I didn't really like it much.     The reason I couldn't really get into it is skate wheels do not allow for full power turns without sliding.   Skate wheels have no problem going fast but they don't hold when you jam a serious turn.

The other day Austin and I went out on my old Carveboard (with the wheels you can adjust air pressure) to some hills near my house with a new Kahuna Bamboo Big Stick and  WOW!! It was INSANE!!!!      We are going to post videos when the weather clears up and it will be clear that this is the best, close to surfing sup you will ever, ever, EVER  get on dry land.     We were tripping out how insane the turns we were pulling!      I watch the videos of the Kahuna Stick and skate wheels and can honestly say skate wheels are not even in the same galaxy with what can be done with the Carveboard.    It's freaking NUTS!

After being stored away for awhile my Carveboard gets new life with the Kahuna Bamboo Big Stick I bought from the Bike Factory in Waipio gentry...    C'mon sun...   I want to rip some turns!!!    I have 2 Kahuna Bamboo Big Sticks.   One for flat skate wheels stuff.    The longer one for the hills...

Found this video...    The Carve Stik with the skate wheels is pretty fun if you have no hills BUT,   the only way to go if you have a nice hill is with the original Carveboard with inflatable wheels...      Our own video version coming soon with the Kahuna Stick...

These things are big fun on any longboard - skateboard.  You can lean way into your carve with the stick.  I made one out of a windsurf mast and two rollerblade wheels I got at a sporting goods store.  Very fun on the hills...
