I am looking at a second hand Starboard Point (14'8") which looks similar in dimension and colour scheme but there are obviously more differences to the boards that Conner and Campbell ride. Any insights here would be welcomed. Cheers
G.

The "old" 14'8" was also designed by Mark R.

It is a great board.

Starboard only phased it out because it was 14'8" - when the class wars settled on 14' it then had to up against the open 18' monsters.
As far as I know the new one will fit the 14' class.

Yeah, we're probably going to do our first Downwinder series in the Gorge with a 15' class vs. 14' because a number of the 14' boards are a little over. The Point being the most over. Plus I'm pretty sure Rod Parmenter is going to be on the Point I sold him, and I don't want him kicking my ass in the open class with the damned thing. Then again, maybe not. As soon as I get back to Hood River I need to sit down with Rod and Mark Ribkoff and figure it out. One of those decisions best made with beer at hand.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

Good question Re Dave.. I thought he'd have some kinda obligation to Naish to race a 14 or 17' Glide.

I think Dave chose an OC2 'cause he found out it had a motor in the back. Ever seen Junya?

As for Randy, I just can't say. I don't think he really likes canoes, but it gives him an excuse to wear those shorts.

Randy - You're looking really impressive on that canoe! You seem totally relaxed, flying your ama and riding bumps with little effort.  Awesome.

hi Randy,

I have been loving OC1.  I am very new to it still and I am picking up little things all of the time.  That has kept me stoked and in the boat all winter.  I am planning to get back on the standup after the Olukai race in a few weeks and then I'll be practicing both over the summer.

Thanks Evan!
