One SUB has always worked great for me in everything around here.  It even has a mast track for windsurfing it.

12'2" Starboard (Ku Nalu shape). Does it all, well. Other boards do one thing great.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

I'm with Steam on this one - ULI LOPEZ although for me it would be the GLX1 - no doubt about it.

PSH 12' Gun/Ripper

A few things I'd modify and I haven't tried anything else in this category, but so far it's what I would choose.

Probably the Starboard 12'6 cruiser for me though a surf optimized DC 14 would be on the cards perhaps

Probably the 11-11 Angulo with the Starboard 12-6 x 30 a close second. The Angulo prototype was magic for me in the board and paddle showcase.  The cruiser was my 1st board and still my favorite all around. Can surf, flatwater and downwind.
You making me think of the Angulo again...I wonder how that board would have performed downwind? Wider in the tail than the cruiser and I think that's a help. Wasn't as fast in the flat though. I'd love to have that board in my quiver.

Close call between the JL 12' gun and the SIC 12'2".  For my
weight, the JL surfs way better than the SIC (it can handle much bigger and faster waves). The SIC has a slight edge for distance and downwind. The SIC has a mastrack and the JL does not have one (yet). Since I surf more than I sail, the winner is ...the JL.

I've only had 2 boards a 10'2" custom board and a newer Stamps 9'0" Ninja Bump custom.  I love my Stamps for surfing but if i could have only one board, i might add a few inches to it and call it good.  Maybe a 9'4" w/ a mast track?

PS.
I'm suprised had how big many people want their one board quivers to be.  I've managed flat water paddling my 10'2" just fine and it still surfs pretty good as well.  I wouldn't want 2 more feet on the board if my primary purpose was to surf and occasional flat water paddles.  I guess i'd reconsider if my primary purpose was flat water though.

Oh yeh, Heave,
Sweet looking day.  Hope to see you soon... as summer sailing season starts.  Most days for me in the winter are to C City.  I was up North for Valentines weekend but it was stormy the whole weekend and I never got in the water.
