I've only been able to take it out in 1, 1 1/2 ft max and in very gusty offshore conditions to surf it. That said it performed ok, it is very stable floats my 95kgs easily, manouvers well enough i.e. pumps, cuts back with ease. It gets into waves easily enough and the narrow (but thick) nose punches through the white water on the way out also with no problems. It noserides well and the tail holds just fine.

I did notice the lack of glide in it compared to longer boards but I supose that's to be expected and the trade off. It also feels a bit slow but I need to take it out in better conditions in order to make a more informed decision on that aspect. The tail is quite thick compared to other boards of similar size and that and the nose also having a bit of thickness gives the board a chunky look.

I'll post back to update how it goes in more substantial waves.

Everyone I've spoken to is very keen to get a go on the 9'0", I saw one in the shop and it looks good in my humble opinion.

Well then say a prayer for some waves down my way as we're having a shocker of a spring season so far :'(

Went out this morning in onshore ankle ripples just to get a paddle, I just spent 1/2 hr practising turns and catching the tiny dribble in. It wasn't a total waste of time and at least I got out on the water...so come on wave prayers for Aucklands east coast please!!

Just a word regarding the 9.0 for anyone considering buying without trying.  If by chance you are a lightweight and like me really like the carry handle to be in the right place on the board for carrying any distance or getting into and out of the house or garage then BEWARE the carry handle on the 9'0 is about 3 inches too far forward and as such for a small person is damn near impossible to carry.  At a recent demo day I saw 2 ladies struggling with it and a smaller girl not be able to carry it at all.  Apparently it was done that way on purpose so as not to get your toes caught in the hole when surfing ????? Whatever !! I personally want my $2000 board to be perfect and be good to look at, good to paddle, good to surf and nice and easy to carry !! (maybe I am just too fussy though) JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION THOUGH

That bothers me when a board maker doesn't take the time to think about handle position... Customers pay a lot of mulla for these boards and companies should pay more attention to that area of the build. Position of handle (balanced) and also handle size and depth  are important to customers. The AHD and Nah Skwells have a really nice deep, oval shaped handle that makes it very easy to carry the board...  Later,   JD

My Sub Vctor handle insert was unbalanced too. When the board is shaped the insert area is cut out in the foam... Now add pad, Fins, fin boxes with more resin/epoxy , leash plug and tail pad..  more weight in the tail area making the board unbalanced .. Yes,  a lot of $  spent for the equipment   and it should be addressed. I wrote to Boardworks about this issue but have not had a response yet.. Very Minor issue compaired to the world's issues today..

IMO.... When hand-holes are that far out they should be a recall.. or a warranty replacement.

Apparently it was done that way on purpose so as not to get your toes caught in the hole when surfing ?????

That sounds really fishy to me.  The perfectly balanced finger well on my custom Angulo is right in the center of my normal paddling position,  and I've never come close to putting a toe in it.  In fact, I can't remember ever feeling the thing with my foot.

As far as the difficulty in getting it placed in the right location, I say BS.  I was able to correctly locate the finger well in the hollow wood SUP I built, and I had to do it before I had even put the deck on.  It's just not that hard to get it right.
