Be careful of new VIRUS going around

There's this virus going around that's been effecting more people than the swine flu.  There's documented evidence that this virus has been spreading all over the world.

Some of the more serious symptoms are:

1.  Body aches
2.  Lack of interest, or decline of productivity at work.
3.  The selling of all shortboards and longboards.
4.  Spending long hours on the internet reading about this virus, or even producing videos about the virus.
5.  Wanting to quit your job.

Some of the milder symptoms are:

1.  Minor body aches
2.  Keeping one longboard and shortboard for later use.

***These minor symptons usually develop into the more sever form of the virus.

Oh, the name of the virus is called Stand Up Paddle Surfing, (S.U.P.)

I think I have a slightly different strain of the virus...

1.  Body aches - Yes

4.  Spending long hours on the internet reading about this virus, or even producing videos about the virus. - Yes, when I can.

5.  Wanting to quit your job. - Definetly NO!

I have a few friends that I ran into recently, and was shocked to see that they were infected by this virus.   They were previously aware of the virus and swore that they would not be infected.  They were in fact hoping to start some sort of control methods to keep the virus from spreading.

Saw them a week ago and they somehow they were infected.  Only the mild symptoms.

Saw them today and I'm sorry to say that the virus has progressed.  They now have some of the severe symptoms, they sold all their shortboards.

I advised them that the good news is that there is no known cure, and it only gets better.

Be careful folks.  I hear the virus often can affect your balance and lead to a nasty rash.  The best advice I can add besides getting plenty of fluids is to keep your head elevated in a standing position if possible.   If your symptoms don't subside, don't despair.  The condition can become chronic, but my understanding is it's something you can live with.

I just want to add too:  There's nothing like having a great online support group consisting of fellow sufferers who understand what we're all going through.   It's nice to be able to come together and share info on the latest research, treatments, give and receive advice, hear stories from other patients, Etc.

And I've heard rumors that the virus can mutate into a (severe) physical and emotional addiction, always craving more water time and causing the host to make almost all life choices based around being able to get a daily fix. Removing the host from the water substance, instead of freeing the host from the addiction, only causes anguish and increased grouchiness (especially with family members). And like other addicts, the host willingly encourages others to get exposed to this virus,  joining them in this depraved state of being .......  ahhh, the first one's free!

I must have it cuz  I just realized that I have ordered 4 boards for myself; a 12 foot semi-race, a 10 foot hybred proformance, an 8-6 egg and now a 10-3 three stringer G&S red fin classic as a SUP.  Oh my I'm feeling woozie

Exactly.  Often, people have to call in sick to work.   Nowadays, that's encouraged to prevent the spreading of said pathogen.  i.e., would not want to cause a pandemic.

The virus spreads just as quickly in fresh water as salt. I looked behind me on the Willamette river on Friday afternoon and realized what mama ducks feel like. I used to have these rivers all to myself. I used to have people coming up and asking "what is that" Now they say "wow, an F18, where can I get one."
