Is a 105L board to difficult to start with?  I got KT Drifter 105 , I'm 180lbs and 6'2.  I went out for my first sessions and was falling on the board a lot.  I switched to a 140L and continued to fall quite a lot on that as well.

This was on a lake in somewhat ideal beginner wind (25+ knots) and quite wavy.  I'm just wondering if I should aim for a larger board to start or keep going on this.

One thing I did get a the end of my 2nd session was that I need to really get some speed going before trying to get up by heading downwind it seems a bit before trying to stand.

I just found even on the 140 I was falling and people said it was super stable... maybe I'm not super stable anymore haha

Did you try these boards when it was 15 knots and not so wavy?

The board sounds okay for your weight but choppy water will increase the difficulty. If possible, find a spot with smoother water or pick a day with less wind.

25+ knots is a lot of wind for a beginner. What size wing are you using?

see if you can find someone to tow you behind a boat or jet ski...that's a smaller board for a beginner but not impossible. Learn to ride the foil board first, then add in the wing after you are confident on the board. That will make it easier.  Also once using the wing,  it's better to learn in stronger winds than lighter.  Without enough wind, you'll never get going and get up on foil.
