Surf paddles, race paddles, either one I have never glued. Wrap nice and tight with good electrical tape. Never had one come loose, never had any issues. I change out maybe once or twice a year. No heat, no glue, easy peezy.

If a handle is made to hot glue it might rotate too easily and break the glue loose. The lovely perfect roundness of some handles means the only thing keeping the handle from twisting with paddling torque is the shear strength of the glue. If the handle has flats, or a join line in the ferrule, then the glue forms a wedge that resists twisting.

thx bean--i will try that when i try to pull apart my zre--any issues with epoxy remaining on handle blade shaft after separation--so they can be cleanly attached again?

with hot glue i am able to get the parts very clean prior to reinsertion

DJ’s boiling “pot of water trick” will sometimes get your grip off without the fear of overheating your shaft.

Ooops, I meant if a handle is NOT made to hot glue.
