Snapped paddle update
« on: March 01, 2018, 09:33:35 AM »
A while back snapped my paddle shaft from a relatively small incident. Called the company and was initially annoyed when they didn't get right back to me. Apparently ZRE's working hours aren't so year round in NY as we are here in sunny (not today though) California . Go figure. Anyway, they did eventually get back to me and said that if I sent back the paddle face and handle they would replace the shaft with a beefier version, free of charge. OK, now am much less annoyed and actually quite pleased. Love when companies stand up tp their products. Just thought I share this happy ending. Cheers.

Always good to hear the good outcomes. Too often people just talk about the bad.

Good job. I always find patience is key when dealing w/customer support. being an East coast surfer one learns patience quickly too!
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

I had no doubt you'll be taken care of! Such as life when dealing with the small companies. I had to wait few weeks for my latest
order since they switch mode to ski polls and got slammed with large orders (I guess inspired by the Winter Olympics).

Stoney, I read that the other way; of roughly 100 words, 20% were positive.

It's a new era of consumerism.  "I used it - I broke it - 'annoyed when they didn't get right back to me."   It's tricky to be in business these days.  There's is —'I will shame you on social media.'— threat that needs to be factored into your bottom line. On places like Amazon and eBay with overt customer reviews, you have to KTA of people you might happily pass to a competitor if they walked in the door.

Really meant for this to be a more positive story and if anything the negativity belonged to me and not the company. Also, like someone else mentioned, sounds like more patience was needed on my part. Hope to do better next time. Cheers.
