Would Like to purchase surf sup in Oakland Ca for this weekend.

Reaching out for a little board help. I am flying into SF this week for a conference and going on a little surf safari this weekend.

 I would like to purchase a used surf sup somewhere around 120 to 130 liters somewhere in the Bay Area this week-Oakland is best. I will leave it for future trips. Can be an older model, can be dinged up. I will have a car for pickup.

My first board was a Coreban 9'6 performer and my current ride is an 8'4 Rawson.

Any thoughts? Clay?

Hi,

A friend has a couple boards that size, I sent him a text.  Storage with ride benefits when you are not here works for me or my friend.  I can help you find a used board, there are a couple shops that have pretty good deals on production boards.  My shaper has a custom 8'11" demo board that absolutely rips, I can barely stand on it so I am guessing around 130L or less.  He might be up for selling it.  I will be visiting my shaper this week, so if interested I need to know asap.

F-One has taken over their shop. No more Bluerush branded products. Bluerush is only involved with events now:

I am not sure the details. Two of my closest friends moved from York Maine to Palo Alto and they have a short hike to a beach to camp on and surf there. Will report back.

palo alto is 45 mins from santa cruz---i used to commute there from PA at dawn, when my daughter was in school in PA--covewater always done right by me--nice surf sup rentals--likely they'll sell rental stock and have used also--might be, tho, that youd prefer to rent? chances are youll head to SC enroute from PA to wherever you are going to surf/camp--and then seems youd likely head back to PA same way---easy to pick up and drop off at cove water--price for a week weas very reasonable

My son lives in Palo Alto and attended school  there for many years so I've made a bunch of trips to the beach surfing.  The quickest surf spot to get to from PA is actually Pacifica, but there is no camping there, further south down Route 1 there are places to camp.  Likely you are going to be near Santa Cruz,  ask your friends where you are staying.  It's very easy to rent a decent SUP in Santa Cruz,  other spots at Half Moon Bay further North.  Oakland is not exactly a surfers paradise and Palo Alto I doubt has any surf stores left - completely taken over by Google, Facebook, Amazon etc etc etc.

 The surf breaks between Pacifica and Santa Cruz can be really nasty in the Winter and many are not SUP friendly, so check with locals before you go. If the waves are huge and stormy there are options like Bolinas it's a good 2 hours north from PA.  If Ocean Beach is pumping you can take a look and tell us if it looks just like the breaks in MA like we keep hearing

lived out there for a while- pre SUP. Conditions really make you have to play about 3 hours worth of coast.  Not to repeat whats been said- but circling Bolinas and Pacifica is a good bet on a Sup.  Other good waves are relatively crowded whn conditions permit them to be sup friendly
